Sometimes the internet is a poison trash heap full of nuclear waste but other times, it brings together Rihanna, Lupita Nyong’o, Ava DuVernay, Issa Rae, & Netflix to create the perfect movie.

This is that time.

Back in 2014, Rih & Pitz sat next to each other at a MiuMiu fashion show and were photographed looking fabulous. At the time, the picture went viral the way things did in 2014 on Tumblr, quickly and quietly. One user pointed out that the two looked like they were in a heist movie.

Then, a few weeks ago, a different person, this time on Twitter, brought the picture back into our lives and gave the plot of this would-be movie more detail.

Because this is 2017, and Twitter jumps on any chance to have fun that it can get, coupled with the fact that these beautiful black women scamming rich white men is a concept we can all get behind – the idea blew. up.

Rihanna and Lupita both tweeted that they were down with this plot. Ava DuVernay got tapped to direct and Issa Rae promised to write the screenplay. This was all fun and games until at Cannes, Netflix freaking bought the project!!! They funded a Rae written, DuVernay produced heist movie starring Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o.

Since news broke that this project is official, Ryan Phillippe volunteered to be the white dude that gets scammed, and Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson have tweeted that they’ll do literally anything just to be on that set.

Just read that sentence again, tell me it’s not the greatest thing you’ve ever read! The star studded team also mentionned that the Twitter and Tumblr users who came up with the idea will be credited for their efforts.

Rae’s rep has since confirmed the news, in case this all seemed waaaaaaaaaay too good to be true. Think about it again, this movie will be written and directed by women of colour, starring women of colour! There will be zero white dudes on the poster! What a novel idea.

No one knows when this will be released, but if it’s theatrical I’m buying 15 tickets every day of opening weekend, and if it’s a Netflix original movie you better believe I’m going to have it on a loop until the end of time.
