TV Christmas Movies Are The Best

While Elf and Christmas Vacation are holiday classics, I’m not talking about those right now. I’m talking about those cheesy made-for-TV Christmas movies that come on Hallmark and Freeform. Yep, those movies are amazing.

I know what you’re thinking: you’ve gotta be kidding me, Alex! Usually you have such amazing taste! (Thank You) Why do you watch those terrible “romcoms” that are all basically the same?? Good question, readers. I watch them for the happy ending! I don’t CARE if sometimes the plot makes me roll my eyes so hard they almost fall out of my head. I don’t care if nothing really makes that much sense and it’s always about a workaholic woman who finds the meaning of Christmas with the help of a man who she falls in love with along the way. Sometimes a kid or a dog is involved, too.

All of my shows lately have been punching me straight in the feels. None of my favorite couples are together. Either because one of them died, or left the show, or the writers are just teasing us. And don’t even get me started on the Gilmore Girls revival; that was a disaster. I watch tv to take a break from real life! I want a happy ending. I want the couple to get together at the end, no matter what.

This is why made-for-tv Christmas movies are now my JAM. I’ve watched one almost everyday the entire month of December. Is that a little excessive? Maybe. But it’s just so fun to actually feel happy about the ending of something for a change. I’m sick of being punched in the feels. Life punches me enough–I want to feel happy after watching something!

Do you feel the same way? Are made-for-tv Christmas movies your fave?? What are some of your favorites?
