I am dragging myself to the computer to get this review done, I know this has happened before I can’t always get 100% behind Carol, especially in Carol dominated episodes.
We are back at the beginning of the outbreak with Madame Genet, who was a janitor at the museum where the Mona Lisa was located. Her and the crew weren’t treated the greatest and were ready to strike, but the place got on lock down so they had to go back inside. Genet’s husband came to try to get her out but he couldn’t get inside, and he ended up munched on by a walker.
We flash to current times with Carol looking at the Mona Lisa, Genet comes and talks with her, they had a little mental back and forth war, and Genet tells Carol she knows that Mona Lisa is real because she took it off the wall herself. A soldier acts up to a servant with the food and knocks it on the ground, Genet makes this soldier eat the food off the ground. It’s a great way for Carol to know she is dealing with someone of power.
Carol is assigned to kitchen duty, she stumbles across some test subjects being shot and then injected to try to make super soldiers. Carol’s newest friend said that Genet’s experiments have been rumored to have created the burner walkers and they escaped. Carol catches up to the rest of the kitchen brigade before they feed the soldier brigade. She asks around and Codron tells her that he knows of Daryl Dixon and tells her where he is likely to be hiding after she tells him that Daryl is her brother and only surviving family member. Later Carol talks to her friend to figure out where this place is and it’s on the Normandy Coast. The guy uses this information to get his husband’s safe release.
Genet wants Carol to tell the truth on how she got there, she tells, mostly the truth, which sounds absolutely insane when she says it all out loud, until she gets to the point where the tells Genet she wants to kill Daryl and came all this way to do that. Genet says she knows where Daryl is held up and will take her to kill him herself, so they gather up some people and head out to the coast, they all park a distance from the city, where Genet is going to kill all the prisoners and inject them with something to try to turn them into super zombies that will kill Daryl and everyone else at the city.
Our other story involves Losang and others trying to push up the ceremony so Laurant can be bit by a walker in hopes that he survives. Sylvie escapes being captive in her room and goes looking for Laurant, She ends up getting cornered on the second story ledge of the castle and is launched over the edge in a scuffle with guards killing her instantly. Losang tells everyone that her faith was weak. A little after the ceremony is to start and Losang gives Laurant a drink that numbs him and a heavy weighted coat. Losang uses Sylvie in walker form to be the one to bite Laurant until Daryl(with Isabelle and Fallou) intervene after making it back into the castle. Daryl shoots walker Sylvie in the head before the bite can occur and causes a stir.
The four meet up and try to escape the castle, in the end only Fallou and Laurant are able to escape with Daryl and Isabelle being captured. Losang is a nut job and says if Laurant is bit and doesn’t survive then there is no point for him or his people to go on. In captivity Isabelle wants to know more about Ohio and what she would do and what it would be like and tells Daryl she loves him.
