The Justice League has no shortage of villains.  They have evil versions of themselves, an intergalactic collector of rare things, sometimes a corrupt version of their most powerful member and a stony hide enemy that embodies all of evil.  Too many times is the League challenged.  These threats could come to Earth or demand their presence beyond the stars.  But the Justice League is an all-around strong, powerful, smart, versatile group.  They have experience with galactic, political, militaristic, mythological, street level, technological, and psychological l threats because at least one member of the group knows about this world.  But what if one villain, from another far away universe, has goals to obtain control of strong elemental forces?  What if the Justice League has to defend physical structures of mind, soul, time, reality, power and space from one mad titan?  How would the Justice League fair against Thanos?

Disclaimer for the lineup of this group.  It will be the same line up in the very first issue of Justice League that debuted in 1960.  That would be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.  And because he has carved a spot on the team as of late, Cyborg as well.

The Justice League is a strong crew but Thanos is a strong individual.  He is a fighter, a survivor.  He has more than enough traits to keep him upright in a nasty, personal brawl.  His physiology allows him to withstand powerful hits and deliver strong hits himself.  That’s all without the boosts from the Infinity Stones.  All the League members will definitely remember those hits.  But Thanos will remember the hits landed on him as well. Every member of the Justice League packs a powerful punch.  Although The Flash lacks strength, he could gain more than enough momentum to deliver one of his supersonic punches to Thanos’ gut that will cause more than a drop of blood.  If The Flash is unable to gain that momentum, he could just land thousands of punches before Thanos could lift an arm up.  Even Aquaman could deliver some hits on Thanos that will keep the Mad Titan on the defensive.  With Atlantean fight training, the anatomy of an Atlantean and the magical boost from the Trident, Aquaman has the arsenal to withstand and attack Thanos, comfortably, in a one-on-one match.  Green Lantern has an unlimited amount of projectiles and energy to keep Thanos at bay. That’s important since Thanos has to get up close for his assault, especially if he doesn’t have the Stones with him.  If he does, the fight between Green Lantern and Thanos will probably look very similar to the one between Thanos and Doctor Strange.  If he doesn’t, Green Lantern could just unleash at unlimited, relentless, constant bombardment on Thanos.  This way, at the very least, could keep Thanos distracted.  At the most, end Thanos with the never-ending attack of versatile projectiles.  Martian Manhunter has the power to perhaps defeat Thanos outright.  He has the strength to match Thanos’ own.  With his invisibility and phasing could get him up close to Thanos undetected then the phasing could quickly beat Thanos.  Or help Manhunter avoid some of Thanos’ physical attacks.  If Martian Manhunter doesn’t want to do that, he could just reach into Thanos’ mind and shut him down from there.  He is a powerful telepath and is more than capable of doing it.  Cyborg will fight Thanos very similar to how Iron Man does it.  Cyborg could have a similar arsenal to what Iron Man has.  He does have similar high quality armor that could tolerate the hits from Thanos.  And has access to portal to Apokolips that could serve as a quick way to imprison Thanos, temporally or permanently.

Then here comes the Trinity.  Wonder Woman was born into a warrior culture.  Trained in the art of war since she was able to walk.  All those skills were honed, forged, perfected, improved, adapted, and evolved over thousands of years.  Wonder Woman has fought – and bested – monsters, gods, demons, aliens, interdimensional beings, evil counter parts, and robots.  Fighting someone like Thanos will be very familiar territory for Wonder Woman.  With mastery of her ancient weaponry and her vast experience in fighting, Thanos has a serious issue on his purple hands.  Even Batman will be a problem.  The Justice League has history with Darkseid, Brainiac, Doomsday, Despero, and Mongul.  And because Batman is Batman, he has devised plans to combat these threats.  Thanos is very similar to them.  Batman will have a plan for Thanos.  But more than that, Batman does have suits that could give him the punch he needs.  The power suit he wore to beat down Superman could have modifications added on it.  Batman’s Hellbat suit has withstood the might of Apokolips.  And combines the might of many of the Justice Leauge members, in some capacity.  Many of the Justice League members are all wrapped in one.  And Superman, goes without saying.  May actually be the strongest and one of the most powerful beings Thanos has fought.  Thanos is strong himself, without the power from any of the Stones.  But Superman has unlimited amount of strength, in the right environment.  Regardless of that though, Superman doesn’t have to rely on anything extra to give him more power, he already has it.  One single hit from Superman could make Thanos rethink his intentions.  A second hit could make Thanos see a glimpse of the personification of death he desperately wants to please.  Superman normally fights threats like Thanos all the time.  Superman will be fine.

The Justice League simply has too much firepower.  Most of the team has great physical strength.  The rest have the abilities to warp reality or adapt to the situation significantly.  If the Justice League were to aim all their strength on Thanos, very much how they did it to Darkseid in Justice League: Origin, that power will be too much for Thanos.  Thanos may be a strong being in his own right, but that type of prowess falls short to the full might of the Justice League.
