Hi guys, I am back with a new KU review. Today we are talking about Heaven Sent by Avelyn Paige. It’s the first book in the Heaven’s Rejects MC series with four more after. I have been hopping around romance book sub-genres and have gotten into the MC romance novels and I like them. The men are big, gruff, and fight like demons. Once they lay eyes on the one, she is His and no one will get between them. It’s hot and this one doesn’t let you down.

We meet Dani while she is on the run. She left behind a gruesome tragedy in Cleveland, Ohio, and landed in Upland, California with $700 in her pocket. She can’t get a fake ID and she doesn’t want anything in her name, including a paycheck, so that she can’t be found. It isn’t necessarily the police she is worried about, though she is sure she will have to deal with them at some point. When she gets to town, she meets a woman named Erica whom she is going to rent a room from. Eventually, she gets a job at the same bar as Erica.

Hero, our MMC, sees Dani in a bar and is immediately drawn to her. He talks to the bar owner to get some info on her and the creepy guy (the owner is horrible. you’ll see what I mean) tells him that Dani is living with Erica. The problem with that is Erica is the girlfriend of Heaven’s Rejects MC and Hero automatically assumes that Dani is, therefore, associated with Twisted Tribe MC. She is not, she’s just trying to stay to herself. In any case, because Dani might be tight with them, Hero doesn’t even try.

So Erica takes off unexpectedly and then the apartment is broken into while Dani is there and she is taken hostage. She manages to escape and hide out in an old, abandoned house only to be taken hostage by one of Heaven’s Rejects members. Once back at the MC’s clubhouse, she is medically cared for but locked in a room until the club can figure out what to do with her. She and Hero meet again and sparks fly but Hero is resisting and Dani is utterly confused. Hero can see that Dani is hiding secrets but she keeps them close to her vest.

Overall I liked the book enough to read it. I wanted to know what happened next so I kept reading, so the story was good. I liked the dynamic between Dani and Hero, they were very snarky with each other. When captured, Dani is pretty resourceful which was nice instead of always waiting for a rescue. One thing I didn’t like was all the groups had a certain way of speaking, there weren’t individual voices outside of Dani. All the women have the same voice, all the bikers talk the same. Hero’s voice is a bit different too but not by much. This isn’t a book I will be reaching for again. It was nice enough to read but somewhat forgettable.
