My child, Jordan has been impatiently waiting for this series to come out. I have seen the pilot (which I will leave one of the trailers down below for Hazbin Hotel and I want to point out this is not a cartoon for kids. 18+ is recommended. There is naughty language, intense violence, and sexual content, and they are in Hell for those who disapprove. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Hazbin Hotel’s premise is that the princess of Hell, Charlie Morningstar, wants to rehab sinners so they can ascend to Heaven. So, obviously, Lucifer has at least one child. Charlie is a blonde, happy, bubbly, naive adult who wants to help. She is overly nice and always ready to sing and is annoyingly upbeat. The other main characters are Vaggie, Charlie’s girlfriend and manager of the hotel, and Angel Dust, a resident and an adult film star. Some more main characters are Alastor, a radio demon, Husk, the bartender, and Niffty, the maid.
The purpose of the hotel is to house the residents who wish to rehab and get out of Hell. It is a tall order since almost no one takes her seriously. She puts up with bullying, but Vaggie shields her from most of it. The pilot had a big musical number when she was being interviewed on the news about her hotel. Vaggie counseled Charlie to talk, not sing, but Charlie simply wouldn’t heed her. Charlie, for as sweet as she is, has pretty thick skin because the whole News crew talks smack. You would think that being Lucifer’s daughter would make people think twice about messing with Charlie, but nope.
Hazbin Hotel is connected to Helluva Boss, for those who don’t know. They share the same Hell, and the two shows might meet, but to date, that hasn’t been confirmed; it’s just speculation. They share the same director, Vivziepop, a.k .a. Vivienne Medrano. She works with the Spindlehorse team, which works a lot on Helluva Boss.
When asked, “Why are you excited about Hazbin Hotel?” Jordan said, “I think the premise of the story is cool, and I want to see how Charlie overcomes the challenges of her goal. That, and the characters.” I further asked what character is your favorite so far, and the response was, “Angel Dust and Alastor, but if I have to pick just one, Alastor.” The last question I asked was, “What do you think of a rehab for the residents of Hell? Do you think it will do any good?” Jordan said. “I think it could do some good if the residents are willing, but it remains to be seen if it will work to get them into Heaven. It would Angel Dust out of the contract they have been under for 70-80 years.” I guess Angel Dust died in the 1940s, and Jordan would love that for them.
Are you excited about the Hazbin Hotel series? Do you have a favorite character? Have you watched Helluva Boss? I left a trailer down below. Let me know in the comments below the trailer. Until next time, have fun storming the castle!
I’ve waited five years for this to come out. It’s going to be worth it!
