Hello again. This is my series where I watch one to three episodes of a show and give you my thoughts on whether or not I would watch the rest of the series. Today we are talking about the Resident Evil series. I was just as surprised as you to know there is a series for Resident Evil. This series is much different than the Mila Jovovich Resident Evil (2002).
This Resident Evil completely resets the timeline, and Alice is not in this timeline. The outbreak was in 20. The story so far centers around Jade (Ella Balinska and Tamara Smart) and Billie Wesker (Adeline Rudolph and Siena Agudong). As teenagers, they move into Umbrella Corporation’s housing development with their dad Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick). Mr. Wesker is a highly sought-after scientist. We jump back and forth between when they were teenagers and to the present day.
Billie and Jade are both troubled but are tight with each other. When Billie has trouble with other students at their new school, Jade encourages her sister to stand up for herself. Instead, Billie just takes the abuse. One day she is assaulted, and Jade makes Billie’s attackers pay. Unfortunately, there seems to be a massive rift between them as Billie is trying to hunt down Jade, and Jade is hiding in plain sight.
I need to find more time to watch more of this. Where I left off was Billie trying to heal from the dog bite she got when she and Jade went to release the animals. I think she won’t be the same when she recovers, given the little we know about what is going on in the present day. I can say they did a great job with the back story. However, it is hard to connect it to the present day because we don’t know enough about it.
I do like this. I can honestly say that this is good in a different way than the movies. It is darker and grittier. The Wi-Fi and electricity don’t make sense to me, but I can live with it. So yes.
