I am back with a new show. If you don’t know, Would Andie Watch It? is an article series that I watch the first few shows and let you know my thoughts. If you missed my article on Game of Thrones, click the link to find it. Today’s show is Bureau of Magical Things (Do you know how hard it is to spell magical, not magickal?). You can find it on Netflix. Here are my thoughts.

Bureau of Magical Things is about a teenage girl named Kyra (Kimie Tsukakoshi), who is an ordinary human girl. Living in and outside of our plane are elves, fairies, and other magickal beings. Out jogging, Kyra sees a floating book and touches it. Suddenly a magical world has been opened for her. Now Kyra must hide her power from other humans and master her magic with the help of Professor Maxwell (Christopher Sommers), Lily (Mia Milnes), and Imogen (Elizabeth Cullen). Darra (Julian Cullen) and Rusky (Rainbow Wedell) help out too. Imogen and Darra are brother and sister and are elves. Lily and Rusky are fairies. As I said, Kyra is human but with both fairy and elven magic.

I am outside of the target audience. This is genuinely a tween or young teen show. Meaning, for me, it is juvenile and goofy. But, of course, I am also a full-grown adult. I will say, though, that it is a cute show. Each episode is under thirty minutes, making it easy to binge with frequent breaks.

This is an excellent show for those younglings who are drawn to magic. I could relate to the drama when I was younger, so I can see our kids liking this. Will I watch this show some more? I doubt it. Not because it is a bad show but because I am too old. Ugh. Am I really that old? It is, however, a show I would recommend for a tween or young teen.

Do you think this is something you want to watch? Have you heard of or watched this show? Let me know in the comments below. Until next time, have fun storming the castle!
