With Covid, Comic Con schedules have gotten messed up. Emerald City ComicCon is no exception. ECCC Normally takes place in March. We didn’t attend ECCC in 2020 because it was canceled. ECCC didn’t occur in March of 2021 because it is taking place from December 2nd through the 5th. I am sure this means no ECCC this coming March, but we ComicCon now, so, WOOHOO!

It looks like a good lineup this year. I am sorry, but your girl here isn’t going in person. I would love to, but I have a compromised immune system and don’t want to risk it. I will, however, do what I can to cover it from home. I am saddened, though. My favorite part of ComicCon is Artist Alley. I love looking at what the artists create. I am so jealous of people who can create beauty with their hands as they do. Anyway, here are some of the things I think are cool scheduled at ECCC.

One of my favorite actors ever will be there, Tim Curry. He was the iconic Dr. Frankenfurter in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also played the Devil in Legend. He was in a Muppets movie, he was in Clue, and all kinds of other stuff. He has incredible talent and a distinctive voice that you can’t miss. Amy Jo Johnson Who was the original Pink Ranger in the Power Rangers. I wanted to be her, but in purple, when I was a kid.

In Artist Alley, there are so many artists going. Ugh! I a curse on the fact that I am immune-compromised! I wanna see the art so badly! There are artists like Michele Cajes, whose art I would love to see. The Diwata Filipino Gods and Goddesses inspire her. I love learning about deities, so that I would love this art. I find art that is about Gods and Goddesses to be some of the most beautiful. Shana Schottenstein is another artist I would love to check out. She creates art that ranges from cartoons to fantasy realism with lots of colors. I love artists who use vibrant colors. Black and white are great, but I have always loved color. She also does art with jewelry wire. Here are links to check out Michele Cajes and Shana Schottenstein.

Writer’s Block is a fun one too. Being that I am a writer, this is very punny. There are panels for the writers that attend. A couple of the panels I will be seeing if they are online are Warriors Witches and Women Who Rule Worlds and Authors on Writing Advice and the Business of Publishing. The first (it’s a lot to retype) talks about strong female characters who can kick some ass while chewing bubblegum. The writing advice one advises aspiring writers. Even though I have a book published and am published weekly on this site, I still consider myself an aspiring writer.

I looked for panels that weren’t what everyone was going for but looked like a ton of fun. I found Party Like It’s 1099. This panel is for quick, easy to learn, and fun dances. That sounds right up my alley. I can’t dance. If you are old enough to know the Seinfeld show, I look like Elaine when she dances. It isn’t nice, and I need help. For kids, there are all kinds of panels and interactive fun. There is samurai sword training, drawing, and even Jedi Youngling Training. I bet the Younglings are so cute! There are Star Trek, Marvel, DC, all kinds of meetups so you can meet your favorite characters and fellowship with other fans as well. They even have Trivia panels such as Answer This! Trivia Game Show.

As you can see, ECCC has some marvelous things in store. My husband LOVES Tim Curry. He is sad we can’t go and meet him. They probably have a lot in common. Are you going to ECCC? Why or why not? What are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments below. Until next time…
