We all know just how difficult a year 2020 was and we hope that 2021 will be a much better one. For eSports fans across the world, one huge disappointment from 2020 was the fact that The International 2020, a large Dota 2 event that was due to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, was cancelled. It had been predicted that more than 2 million people would tune in to watch this tournament and there was a $30 million prize pool up for grabs.

Hope that It Could Go Ahead in 2021

Valve were very disappointed that they had to postpone their event in 2020, but they are hopeful that the 10th edition of this competition could happen in August this year. If it does, it is likely that Stockholm will still be hosting it and that the format will be the same – there will be 18 teams battling it out for the top prize.

There are still many companies willing to sponsor this tournament and Valve are hopeful that fans will be allowed to attend. With it being scheduled for August, there is still plenty of time for vaccines to work their magic, allowing groups to come together once again. If it cannot go ahead with fans, then hopefully it can be done behind closed doors and all the fans can tune in an enjoy the action from the comfort of their homes.

The joy that this competition would bring eSports fans would be huge. Not only would they be able to watch all of their favorite players in action once more, but they would also be able to add more entertainment to the tournament by placing bets on it. Obviously, to place bets on anything, you would need to have an account with a bookie.

There are many bookies out there that have an eSports section, but some are much better than their rivals and these are the ones that you will want to be registering with. When we want to find the best eSports betting sites, we head over to mybettingsite.uk as their experts know more than a thing or two about eSports. If they tell you that a betting site is great for placing bets on eSports, then we have no reason to doubt their claims.

Fortnite World Cup and Other Tournaments

Another major eSports tournament that was cancelled in 2020 was the Fortnite World Cup. This was set to be the largest eSports competition of the year, and also came with a large prize pool. Luckily, the Fortnite World Cup is an event that takes place every year, and we expect the 2021 edition to bet better than ever before. The qualifying rounds for this tournament will include more than 350 million players from around the world, meaning that there will be plenty of action to watch and bet on. If you are new to the world of eSports, this competition is a great one to kick start your eSport life.

Those of you who like to bet on eSports, will also be glad to find out that the CS:GO World Championship is also due to take place this year – 24 teams from all over the world with compete against each other over the course of two weeks to decide who can call themselves CS:GO champions. All of the best bookies should have a variety of markets and competitive odds for this highly entertaining eSports competition.

The Electronic Sports League is a large eSports competition organizer and they have been really busy this lately coming up with an eSports schedule for 2021. One of their major aims is to try and bring back some degree of regularity to eSports fans and players across the world. Online CS:GO events for 2021 at the moment include the likes of IEM Katowice, which is an online event, while there are big studio events such as IEM Summer and DreamHack Masters Spring.

However, perhaps the one eSports event that fans are looking forward to the most is ESL One Cologne, which is a live event that is scheduled to take place at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. It would be great if fans could attend this competition as it is an eSports event that all fans get excited about. As well as all of the above, there is also a new ESL Pro Tour Studio planned for this year. So, as you can see, there is plenty for eSports fans to get excited about this year. Let us just hope that the pandemic does not ruin it for everyone again!
