“In 2020, it’s been thrown in our faces that queer spaces can disappear like that,” she added. “And it really makes you think this is a really valuable service we are providing, not just to the community, but to humanity. People need this. They really do.”

Trixie Mattel, Drag Race Star, CEO Of Trixie Cosmetics, Host of UNnHhh and Pit Stop, Streamy Award winner, and now part owner of a bar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This Is It Bar is the hometown bar of Trixie Mattel. She frequented the bar and even performed there. Mattel even hosted viewing parties for Drag Race there.

The bar announced on Instagram Tuesday that Trixie was now part owner, saving the bar from closure by investing in it. Mattel wasn’t about to stand by and let another queer space close.

Late last year she did a Twitch Stream to fundraise for the bar, which was struggling to stay afloat due to COVID. During the stream she spoke about her time there and the importance of the bar to her and the community there.

Mattel says that she has met some of her long time best friends at the bar and calls it the “Cheers of Milwaukee,” in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Mattel says that she and George Schneider, long time owner of This is It will work closely together and take the bar to the next level. They are both not afraid to take risks, which will ultimately prove beneficial to the bar as the last year has proven to throw the community a lot of curve balls.

This is not the first nod to her hometown, last week she announced she shot a music video for Blister in The Sun cover, by Milwaukee band Violent Femmes. You can pre-save it now and it releases next Friday.

To round out Trixie Mattel News, Trixie Cosmetics is releasing new merch this Friday So, be sure to hop on the TC Website Friday for the launch of the TC Robe and Hair Pins!

If this is how she is starting 2021, we cannot wait to see what the next 11 months bring!
