It’s spooky month once more, aka October. As you think about your own costumes, have you ever wondered what your favorite character from a book or TV show or even a game would dress up for Halloween? I have. Some are absolutely comical and some are sexy. No mind you, this isn’t based on any fact. These are my own imaginings. I definitely invite you to tell me yours! Even if the are different than mine.
First up is Harry Dresden. Now Harry loves to thumb his nose at everyone. Well, not those closest to him but he does like to make them roll their eyes. He would pick one that they hate. Or maybe it would be the Queen of the Unseelie Court, Maeve, that he would give the middle finger to. He loves Star Wars and is a Dungeons and Dragons player. He is also a father and would be taking Maggie trick or treat so it has to be appropriate for that. I can see him going as a clown or Obi Wan Kenobi. If he went as a clown he might go as a clown in wizard robes especially if he had Counsel business that day. Yeah, I think a clown in wizard robes.
Anita Blake is next and I think it would be a toss up. Left to her own devices I think the most she would do is a pair of jeans and an red tee shirt that reads “This is my Halloween costume”. If Nathaniel had anything to do with it, it would be a thruple costume so it could include Micha. I could a movie like The Wizard Of OZ or The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Anita would be Janet, Micha would be Brad and Nathaniel would be Rocky. The beauty of this costume is everyone in their group could be in on it. I think if Jean-Claude got in on it, he would be Fankenfurter. If it were Jean Claude in charge of costumes, Something super sexy and over the top. I keep thinking dominatrix but I think that would be more Nathaniel so… I know! With their coming wedding, king and queen!
Scooby and Shaggy would be hard because they are such scaredy cats. I can see them going simple because they are all about the food. Since they are all about the food, I think they would go as food. Scooby as a hot dog and Shaggy as fries.
Olivia Benson from Law & Order SVU would do something dignified but fun so a clown is out. Maybe a super hero. I tend to view her as Wonder Woman or Supergirl. I think if Noah were to go as a super hero, Olivia would go as Supergirl but call herself Superwoman.
Charles Wallace and Meg Murray O’Keefe are my two favorite characters from the books A Swiftly Tilting Planet and A Wrinkle In Time. Charles Wallace is super smart but very rigid in some areas. Thinking back now, he reminds me of someone who is a high functioning autistic kid. In any case, I see him not understanding what the big deal is anyway but if Meg asked him to, he would. Therefore I think he would he would be person from history. Albert Einstien perhaps or possibly Sir Francis Galton. Meg still being unsure of herself and feeling unattractive would be something not flashy. Meg loves her parents who both have PhDs. I think Meg would dress up as a doctor but certainly not a nurse.
These are some of my favorite character. I had so many to choose from that it was hard to settle on these ones. I could have chosen Elena or Bonnie from the Vampire Diaries books or Princess Merry from the Merry Gentry books or even Karrin Murphy or Molly Carpenter. What would your favorite characters wear?
