Disney+ officially launched November 12, 2019. When launched you could get Disney+ for $6.99 per month or $70.00 a year. You can even bundle Disney+, Hulu and ESPN for $12.99 per month. Going back on the site today I could only find it for $6.99 per month and $12.99 per month as part of the package deal with Hulu and ESPN.
Everything Disney, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar is going to be pulled from all other streaming platforms within the next few months to be specifically released on this platform instead. If you aren’t interested in getting Disney+, you can still buy the movies individually as they re-release from the vault. BUT the whole point of Disney+ is the fact that you have all these movies that were vaulted at your finger tips whenever you want to watch them.
Disney+ can be streamed on many devices. It can be streamed through Roku and Apple devices, Xbox One, Playstation 4, Samsung and LG smart TVs as well as Amazon Fire TVs. You can find it in 4K Ultra HD too. I am sure lots of people are loving that!
The create a profile process was simple but fun. You pick an icon that you get to choose from a lot of options. I picked Ursula. Then you pick a name. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. My daughter Bri, who’s twenty, loves Disney+. She was a little let down because there weren’t as many titles as she thought there should be. My other daughter who is seventeen is tickled pink about the whole experience. My friend Nik wasn’t thrilled with the service. He doesn’t feel as though it appeals to adults especially ones that are a bit more mature or have time to watch more adult shows once the wee ones are down. His kids, who are six and eight, are thrilled with the service.
Personally, I like it. I like that there are cartoons and movies I haven’t seen in ages. I like the access to new content. The set up is fun, quick and simple and the price isn’t bad. I would definitely recommend it. What are you going to binge or planning to binge on Disney+? Let me know in the comments below. (For me it is Gargoyles) Til next week…
