2020

Looking at the apparent slate of movies for the first year if the new decade, it looks to be a relatively stale one. There are plenty of movies that will be coming out, but a number of them look wildly uninteresting. That being said, the interesting films to be released will be very wild, with some movies that I never thought would ever be released.

10. The New Mutants

With this movie’s release date being pushed back forever due to the Disney-Fox merger, it will be interesting to see what this movie will actually entail after it being in limbo for so long. With stars like Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton, this X-Men Horror movie will be fascinating to say the least, even if it was delayed for a reason.

9. Mulan

Although the animated movie is not my favorite, Disney’s live action remake seems to have taken a different approach with noticeably less songs and no Eddie Murphy. Disney has made bland live-action remakes over the past year, but I feel as if this one has potential by following the Chinese legend more than the animated movie.

8. Onward

As a fan of Pixar and animation in general, Onward looks like a fun return to original screenplays. With Chris Pratt and Tom holland as the stars, starpower alone will get me to see this movie, not to mention an interesting setting and a wild plot.

7. Wonder Woman 1984

The original Wonder Woman was a great time, and its sequel looks to be just as fun. Although there has not been much footage or images of the film, the movie will retain it’s stars and director from the first movie.

6. Eternals

With a wacky cast, Eternals looks to be a Guardians-esque surprise given that it is a comic line that not many people have really read. With names like Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Kit Harrington all attached to star in a cosmic Marvel movie, anything can happen in Phase 4.

5. Tenet

It is a Christopher Nolan movie. That’s all we know and that is all I need to be excited.

4. Black Widow

The first Phase 4 movie is the long awaited Black Widow stand-alone, and has some great co-stars that will make this an interesting movie to start the summer. With Scarlett Johansson back, Marvel fans can finally scratch that itch

3. Last Night in Soho

After the brilliant Baby Driver, Edgar Wright is back for a horror movie that has not been too revealed. I have loved most everything that he has released, and I am excited to see what is in store here.

2. Dune

After Blade Runner 2049, Denis Villeneuve has made a statement that he can do sci-fi. With a massive project like Dune, there is definitely a chance that this could be an Oscar contender.

  1. No Time To Die

With this being Daniel Craig’s possible last outing as 007, James Bond is still a staple of cinema and is a wonderful series to follow of five decades and 25 movies. This movie is sure to be a hit and is a great way to start off the summer.
