Lucas is caught on film with baby Nicole in Chicago. When June asks if her husband and daughter are safe, Commander Lawrence refuses to give her a serious answer opting to be flippant instead. Commander Waterford allowed Serena into the meeting about their daughter. After the rest of the men leave Commander Waterford begs Serena to help him understand what she wants.

Serena and Commander Waterford go to the home of Commander Lawrence where June is currently residing, to ask her to call Lucas. They want her to call Luke to allow them to say good-bye. At first, June refuses. Serena pleads to her from one mother to another. Eventually, June breaks down but not before getting an IOU from Serena. The phone call was as emotion-charged as you would expect. June got to have a private moment with Mrs. Lawrence.

It is agreed that Serena alone is allowed to see Nicole. Luke keeps his end of the bargain. I think Serena is offered asylum but refuses. Commander and Mrs. Lawrence are listening to the tapes he once made her. June is picked up from the Market. Aunt Lydia meets her at the end of the ride. She is stripped down and redressed. I think June is about to come undone.
