Hello Gothamites, the episode is called ’13 Stitches’ and here is what happened this week!
We pick it up right after the last episode, Gordon escaped Strange’s lab and is running away from Nygma. He barely escapes the bullets Nygma is firing at him, but shattered glass leaves him some scratches. Gordon spots an abandoned ambulance nearby and flees towards it. Nygma finds him in the ambulance and they fight until Gordon uses the resuscitation machine on Nygma’s head to fry the chip and make him unconscious. When he wakes up again, he is back at being himself.

Back at the GCPD, Bruce and Alfred are in search of Gordon. He is obviously not here, only the men Edwardo Durrance took with him to Gotham. Alfred notices the tattoo on one of the men, a knife with the words Born In Blood. Alfred only knows their reputation involves assassinations and coups and not humanitarian work. Bruce confronts them with the question when the desperately needed supplies are coming. They give a vague answer before wanting to lock them up somewhere behind to wait for Gordon. But in a quiet corridor, Alfred and Bruce knock down their guards and escape.
Meanwhile, Nygma and Gordon go to Barbara for cover. She wants to help them, but just like Nygma, Gordon doesn’t fully trust her. When Nygma goes to find the first aid kit for Gordon, Durrance walks in to kill Gordon himself. Suddenly Nygma comes back in pretending that he is still controlled by the chip. Gordon understands and bluffs that he has evidence for what Durrance and Walker have done to Nygma. Durrance is willing to take the risk and starts to shoot. Gordon, Nygma and Barbara barely escape.

Durrance arrives back at the GCPD. The first thing he does is shooting a couple of gangsters because they don’t have any cells left. Bullock starts to argue with Durrance and gets locked up for it. Durrance is frustrated that Gordon escaped, but then he gets a call from Walker saying she has an idea how they can bring Gordon and Nygma to them.

Gordon, Barbara and Nygma make it safely to Nygma’s house where Bruce, Alfred and Fox have also arrived. Fox removes the chip from Nygma’s brain and thinks that he might be able to trace the commands back to the computer that has given them. Then Durrance contacts Gordon through the walkie talkies. He has found Lee and wants to trade her for Nygma. They agree to meet up at Haven. Before he leaves, the group comes up with a plan to expose the plan from Walker. Bruce has contacts at news stations on the mainland and Fox has a transmitter to broadcast the data. The only thing that is missing is an antenna large enough and there is only one place in Gotham that has one: the GCPD.

Durrance arrives at Haven with Lee and two men; Gordon has only himself and the chip from Nygma. He destroys the chip, but Durrance assumes that Gordon probably has a backup and is not impressed. Then they start to fight. Gordon is on the winning hand, but with the help of one of his men, Durrans wins and orders them to kill Lee. He leaves Gordon on the ground who is able to grab his gun and kill one of the soldiers. Gordon and Durrance push each other a little bit more (Durrance even with a steel pipe) until Gordon pushes Durrance on an iron bar sticking out a part of a wall, impaling him. Then Gordon hears a couple of shots and thinks that he is too late to save Lee, but when he finds her she is holding the gun and the soldier is dead.

Meanwhile, at the GCPD, Nygma walks in wearing a bomb suit and carrying a bomb. He proposes a riddle where the answer will be the code needed to deactivate the bomb and gives them 2 minutes to answer. Bruce has climbed the building and is preparing the satellite to broadcast the data, While Alfred, Fox and Barbara are preparing to release some kind of gas in the GCPD building. The soldiers are still thinking about Nygma’s riddle when suddenly Bullock knows the answer. The mice featured in the riddle are extinct so the answer can only be 0000. They enter the code and the ‘bomb’ is defused. The soldiers open fire on Nygma and he is about to be overpowered just as the gas is released inside the building. Everyone faints and Nygma is able to use his gasmask which he had hidden in the suitcase.

Back at Haven, Durrance is still slowly dying when Walker appears. The woman tells him that the press knows about their plan to militarize Gotham and that she had no other choice but to flee to Gotham. But not everything is lost, because she has a backup plan which she activates with a remote. Then she puts a mask on Durrance which brings him back to life. At the GCPD, Lee is still recovering from what happened. She can’t remember anything from the last 3 months, only that she and Nygma stabbed each other and some kind of hospital. When Gordon turns around he misses Lee’s eyes which indicate that she too has a chip in her head. Gordon is able to hold her off and electrocute her. When Lee wakes up again she is not only confronted with Gordon and Bullock but also Barbara who casually mentions that she is pregnant with Gordon’s child.

In Penguin’s citadel, Edward the dog discovers that someone has entered Penguin’s secret safe. It is a white-haired girl who is after a very big and blue diamond. She uses an identical diamond to distract Penguin, which turns out to be a bomb helping her to escape. Penguin goes to the only person might want to help him: Selina. When entering her place, he comes across two guys whos fingers are cut off. After asking he finds out that she cut them off because they wanted to kill Jeremiah’s killer to make a name for themselves. Penguin proposes a deal: she will help him find the thief and she can crash at his citadel. She refuses because she wants to keep the diamond instead. Penguin reluctantly agrees because otherwise, the entire city will think that it is okay to steal from him. Selina identifies the thief as Magpie and takes him to Magpies hideout. They find her there, but she gets away when she pretends to throw a bomb and escapes locking Penguin and Selina up in the process.

When the two of them are locked up, Selina finds out that Penguin is planning to escape Gotham with everything because there is nothing left for him anymore. She wants to join him because she is tired of being Jeremiah’s killer. Selina talks Penguin in splitting part of his treasures before she kicks down the door and they can escape. Apparently, Penguin boobytrapped his vault thinking that Magpie might be back and he is right: she did and got caught. Before Selina can do anything, Penguin shoots her dead.
In another part of Gotham, Alfred is collecting some stuff from the apartment he and Bruce have when he is kidnapped by Jeremiah.
