Daedalic Entertainment is about to bring us a new twist their classic PC game, “Edna & Harvey: The Breakout – 10th Anniversary”.
“Edna & Harvey: The Breakout – 10th Anniversary” follows the story of Edna and her stuffed rabbit friend, Harvey. Edna finds herself with no memories of her past and she is locked in a padded room. She later finds out she is a patient at an insane asylum. Players play as Edna and help her in escaping the asylum and learning about her past by solving puzzles and interacting with the other characters. You will come across interesting patients of the asylum, engaging puzzles and be surrounded by dark humor/ tragedy. It is also worth mentioning that Edna and Harvey play important roles in the games sequel which is an interesting topic of its self.
According to the companies website, the plot appears to be the same as in the original so we aren’t expecting anything different from the first version (other than the art). We do hope there will be some extra content despite not seeing anything alluding to that.
“Edna and Harvey: The Breakout – 10th Anniversary” will be released later this year (2019) in a remastered version created for the 10 year anniversary of its original release. The game will be released on multiple formats such as the PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch which also means it will be offered on a much more broad range then the first game. Along with the new art style (which can be seen on the images of this article), players will be offered the option to play in the original format as well.
Daedalic Entertainment has had a rich and fulfilling part in the point and click gaming community for some time with their beautifully made games. They are responsible for many well created video games that have been the recipients for many awards, with good reason. Given the success of the first version along with the companies good reputation, we have high hopes that this game will be a another positive mark in Daedalic Entertainment’s book.
The original game was an excellent, award winning piece of art that a good number of casual gamers across the globe will know despite its deep roots to Germany. While there doesn’t appear to be any major surprises in store for this anniversary addition, we are still looking forward to the new features and platform options.
