The red carpet at the SAG Awards this year, made me more happy than what I saw at the Golden Globes. I liked the silhouettes much better and the ruffles were gone.

Here are my top picks…

Lady Gaga is wearing a Dior Haute Couture gown. I love this look on Gaga, because she looks like old Hollywood glamour, but with a little more of an edge. The dress is sexy, without being over the top and I like the frayed detailing throughout the dress. Her jewelry also compliments the dress nicely.

Catherine Zeta Jones is wearing a Zuhair Murad Couture gown. You can’t see in the picture, but Catherine kept with the trend of the high leg slit and I love that the dress hugs all her curves in the right places. The blue color looks gorgeous on her and  I actually really like the sleeves. The detailing on them are very intricate and catch your eye.

Patricia Clarkson is wearing a Zuhair Murad Couture gown. Yet again, we have the leg slit, and Patricia looks like a Grecian goddess. Even though the color of her dress could potentially wash her out, I think the gold detailing really helps and makes it a stand out dress. It frames her figure nicely and talk about some drama, with the long sleeves.

Rami Malek is wearing a Dior Men tuxedo and even though this looks like your basic black tux, it’s definitely made to look more high fashion. Instead of the usual tailoring of the buttons in the front, it takes on a more wrap look, with the single button off to the side. And even though not seen in this photo, I thought Rami took a risk, by wearing more of a dressy tennis shoe than the usual dress shoe.

Henry Golding is wearing a Tom Ford tuxedo. On most people, this color jacket wouldn’t work, but on him, it works wonders. I like that he kept everything else simple, and made this jacket the stand out. The swirling pattern is very intriguing and it looks like he’s dripping in gold. I also like that he made the look more casual, by not wearing a tie and having the top of his shirt slightly open. It was superbly styled.

Harry Shum Jr. is wearing a David Yurman tuxedo. I like this look mostly for the color. You don’t see many brown tuxedo’s on the red carpet, but I thought this really worked on him. Also, it looks like his dress shirt isn’t the usual crisp white, but more of an off-white, or ivory color. Very different. I think the brown tux could be the new black or navy.
