Parks and Rec debuted in 2009 on NBC and wasn’t as acclaimed then as it is now. The first season of Parks and Rec currently sits at a 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, with overall mixed reviews and a similar flavor and style to its counterpart “The Office”. The atmosphere of the show is awkward but has shocking humor and a magnetic performance from Amy Poehler that pulls in audiences. There are plenty of other characters that are memorable as well and the performances are solid, but nothing really seemed to click.

During the 24 episode second season, the circumstances, situations and characters went off the wall and the in-jokes began. Every actor totally owns their character and looks like they are having an absolute blast doing what they are doing. Poehler’s smiles radiate through the screen despite all of the crap that her character goes through episode after episode. Chris Pratt really shines as his bubbly Andy Dwyer and Aziz Ansari really owns his role in his own special way. Once the show gets rolling, there is little to hate about it.

For those who don’t know, Parks and Rec is a show that aired from 2009 to 2015 about a rural government employee that is very enthusiastic at her job despite all of the negativity that plagues her town. Shenanigans ensue throughout the series and there are plenty of things that go absolutely wrong and hilarious that only make the show more and more enjoyable.

This show is still on Netflix as of the writing of this article, so I beg readers to check out this show if you haven’t yet.
