Wonder Woman 1984

I absolutely loved the first Wonder Woman movie. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved Wonder Woman. I even dressed up as her one Halloween.

The new movie of course still stars:

Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman
Robin Wright is Antiope. Kristen Wiig is starring as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah.
Chris Pine is back as Steve Trevor.
It is even rumored that Lynda Carter will make an appearance.

How is Steve Trevor going to make an appearance if he died in the first movie right? From what I have been able to dig up, Wonder Woman 1984 is not a sequel to the first movie. It is its own stand-alone movie. There are multiple theories on fan sites as to why he is alive and well in 1984 when he clearly died in WW1. Wonder Woman 1984 is due to be released June 5^th, 2020.
