Wow, this episode of  OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes (“Are you Ready for Some Megafootball?”) showed us how teens, sports and superpowers don’t mix. Megafootball, fans have heard the name before thanks to Megafootball Baby but this fan never though it was an actual activity we would get to experience through the characters. Before Enid delved into this insane episode filled with conflicts and new information she started her day in charisma class sleeping (cool, typical Enid). First thing audiences are exposed to is a more kiddie version of the bodega with Enid working her position at the counter and interacting with interesting versions of K.O. and Rad. It is revealed to be a dream (and a sign of missing her old life in my opinion) when Enid awakes screaming, disrupting the class much to Professor Sunshine’s dismay. For a brief moment, Sunshine is very angry but soon shows some enthusiasm for the pep rally taking place that day.

All the P.O.I.N.T. Prep student gather in the auditorium to begin the pep rally for their final Megafootball game of the season. I though it was curious that the semester only just started but they managed to be finished with the season so soon but its still fun. Another thing to mention is all the creative little references Foxtail made about the teams they played against (some people may recognize them right away but it might be worth your time to search for them to fully appreciate it). The story wouldn’t be complete without Enid playing some crucial role so one thing leads to another ending with her becoming the newest addition to the team. With her new found position on the team, Enid gives off an impression that this isn’t going to be difficult but she soon learns this wont be the case. Despite the fact that Enid knows nothing of the sport, she had no reservation about volunteering to join which really highlighted her confidence and willingness to try new experiences (at least that is how this onlooker interpreted it).

Naturally, P.O.I.N.T. Prep is up against Lakewood Plaza Turbo and, to Foxtail, failure is not an option. Enid soon finds a few familiar faces on the opposing teams side and instantly feels a sense of joy. Quickly she says her hellos and engages in friendly conversation with Rad and K.O. but it is short as the game is about to start. Clearly this proves to be an intense game as the field is rigged and each team goes all out to take down the others. As the game progresses, Enid fails to act aggressive enough to meet the standards of P.O.I.N.T. Prep which results in a poor performance.

Enid doesn’t take the game as seriously as her fellow P.O.I.N.T. Prep associates and as a result is reprimanded by Foxtail, whom threatens to fail the whole team in their strength class if they do not secure a win. This prompts her to be more like her team mates much to the concern of K.O. and Rad. Eventually, she realizes how wrong she was to treat her friend poorly just to win a simple game. As the two teams struggle to gain the upper hand, Chip Damage intervenes by manipulating Sparko and seemingly giving him some kind of power up. Sparko proceeds to take the ball and racks up the points to a devastatingly high number. Following his teams indisputable win, Damage releases his control. The visibly injured Sparko falls from the sky (most likely injured as a result of this sudden spike of power) and narrowly escapes further damage thanks to Enid’s quick rescue.

Regardless of all the episodes happenings, Enid ends this installment with a warm hearted friendship hug between K.O., Rad and herself. Although she is now aware to the knowledge that something bad (maybe even evil) is taking place within the school.

Needless to say, this episode offered audiences new insight and information. Once again a mysterious increase of abilities, seemingly controlled by Chip Damage, makes an appearance. Consequently, we continue to see how dark this action is as it not only endangers the people around the users but themselves as well. How far does this conspiracy go and what does it hope to accomplish? With each episode, new questions arise and its proving to be a show for all ages to enjoy as the story line develops.

Did you enjoy this episode and what are some of the theories you’ve heard or come up with yourself (I would love to hear any positive opinions)?
