Liza and Charles go on a romantic weekend getaway that actually isn’t a romantic weekend getaway at all but in the end Liza STRUTS in the dopest pantsuit so it’s all worth it, oh and Kelsey is polyamorous now, at least according to Lauren.
The best part of this episode is HANDS DOWN the fact that Maggie & Dianna finally meet! Maggie finally gets her art recognized by a prestigious gallery – #SLAYQUEEN – and at her opening, Dianna comes up to her to tell her how big a fan she is. Then she barks some orders at Liza and leaves with her boyfriend, but it is a glorious moment while it lasts.

Speaking of Dianna’s boyfriend, he lives with his mom, which is an immediate turn off for her. Amplified by the fact that Mama is kind of a bitch and insults Dianna 6 ways to Sunday in Italian not knowing that Queen Trout also speaks Italian. He’s still a hottie and I’m not sure this is enough to break the relationship, but time will tell.
Kelsey is sleeping with both Jake Devereux AND Zane, and this is for some reason a huge plot point for the show, even though I don’t think it’s the first time she’s been with 2 men at the same time and also who cares? The problem here is more that she’s once again sleeping with her author, which has not ended well the past TWO times that she’s tried it, so the odds are not good. But honestly kudos to Kelsey for still believing in romance and having faith that this can work out. I know you didn’t ask, but I’m #teamZane because duh.

Empirical is trying to build back up after all of the scandals they’ve faced and one of the books that is going to get them back on top is rocker Chrissie Hart’s memoir. Unfortunately, she is holding out on them, not sharing any pages or chapters, despite multiple looming deadlines. She finally says that the whole book is ready but that she doesn’t trust the internet or a messenger to deliver it. She wants Charles to go up to her place on Shelter Island and pick up the book.
I feel like he should have too much to do to just pick up and meet the whims of his writers, but I guess not? Charles heads up there but Chrissie is being the opposite of helpful and forthcoming with her material. Charles tells Dianna this in a text message and Liza volunteers to go to Shelter Island and save Charles…because she loves him and also because she loves Chrissie.

When she gets there, Chrissie makes it explicitly known that she wants to get it on with Charles so Liza is like lololol no he’s mine. Well, not in so many words. They hang out all night, get drunk on absinthe, and CHARLES AND LIZA LAUGH TOGETHER for the first time in what seems like forever. It feels so nice you guys! He even cracks a joke!!! That night Liza tries to talk to Charles but he shuts down again, and the next morning they all wake up to find he’d gone back tot the city.
Only then to Liza & Chrissie bond and Liza makes Chrissie feel strong and powerful and emboldened enough to share her story and let her book go out into the wild.

AND THEN IT HAPPENS; Liza struts into Charles’ office wearing the most badass silvery lavender pantsuit and drops the manuscript on the desk like she’s dropping the fucking mic! She struts right back out of the office, flipping her hair behind her & only stopping when he asks her how she did it to smoothly say “I DIDN’T RUN AWAY’
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Liza is a badass bitch & I want more of this attitude to come out in the back end of the season!
