November is going to be a super exciting time for movies for me and the two I am most excited for are huge deals for me personally reaching back to my childhood: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Creed II. Now it’s not that surprising that a nerd writer in his 20s is a Harry Potter fan, but Creed holds a very special place in my heart. Growing up the Rocky movies were a very integral part of our household. We had a joke growing up that my mom couldn’t stay awake for a whole movie, but mom always stayed awake for any of the Rocky’s. So needless to say the fact that Creed II is six months away is beyond exciting.
Creed II will have our guy, Adonis Creed, pitted against the son of one of Rocky’s old foe’s, Ivan Drago, son, Viktor Drago. Of course, we know Ivan Drago from when he and Rocky faced off in Rocky IV with Rocky ultimately defeating Ivan Drago in Russia (and possibly single-handedly ending the Cold War).

Michael B. Jordan will be returning to his role as Adonis, as will Sylvester Stallone be returning as Rocky Balboa. Tessa Thompson, Dolph Lundgren, and Florian Munteanu will also be starring.
The one noticeable loss will be Ryan Coogler who wrote and directed the original, but he is producing this one and I believe they have put the reigns into other good hands. Creed II was written by Sylvester Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker and will be directed by Steven Caple Jr.
Creed II will premiere November 21st, 2018.
