Do you believe in the existence of evil? If you’re here and you’re reading this then I know you do. Thirty years ago our old buddy Ash Williams found the Book of the Dead, read from it, and now EVIL has found us, again.

The title of this week’s episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, “Unfinished Business,” is totally appropriate. Loose threads of the past few episodes—and seasons—are pulled together and we finally get some answers about the Knights of Sumeria and Mr. Supernatural himself, Dalton. Ash and ghost-Dad get to spend a few Dickens-esque moments together. . . while Ash chops up his Dad’s body (awkward!), and Brandy and Kelly start to bond over their accidental relationship with both evil and Ash. I don’t want to say it hit me in the feels, exactly, but it might have given them a quick punch once or twice.

Here’s a quick roll-out of this episodes key moments if you need to catch up–

⇒A memory sequence reveals that Ash’s dad tried to do right, and that the hardware store has a basement. But guess what! There’s also a dead guy down there. . . and maybe a portal to hell. No biggie.

⇒Kelly and Brandy fight demon Pablo to the musical number of the week, “All Out of Love” by Air Supply. This reviewer daydreams about how symbolic this all of of Kelly and Pablo’s love, then they share a very special moment when demon Pablo bites her.

⇒Ash and ghost Dad head into the basement. They find that Dad did not leave a dead Knight of Sumeria at the bottom of the stairs, but he did leave a live one to starve to death. On the upside, Ash gets the missing Necronomicon pages.

⇒Ruby reveals that she wants to be one of the only forces of evil on this side of the veil, with the exception of her demon baby.

⇒I must begrudgingly admit that demon Dalton redeems himself at the end of the episode. Fare thee well, both guys from Supernatural at the same time. Evil hardly knew ye.

That’s it for this week. Check back next week for a review of Sunday’s Ash vs. Evil Dead, season three episode five, “Baby Proof” which promises laughter and bloodshed for all. Two words: DEMON BABY. What could go wrong?
