Superstore - Season 3

Eddy Chen / NBC

Last night on Superstore Amy & Jonah basically admitted their feelings to one another in front of everyone and Mateo got a happy ending!

The whole episode centres around the fact that Glenn is trying to prove to Dina and to himself that people aren’t trash monsters. After seeing the footage of Amy & Jonah, he’s heartbroken that Amy is an “adulterer” and Dina comes in with the rude awakening that everyone sucks and if there was no threat of punishment, people would reveal the worst in themselves.

They decide to fake a fireable offence and give everyone one day to confess and be granted amnesty. Literally everyone comes in with some sick twisted thing they’re doing. Carole is poisoning Sandra’s lunch, Sandra wants to kill Carol, Brett makes homeless people fight, etc. Cheyenne & Garrett realize that this basically means they’re in the purge, and can do anything they want all day. Cheyenne lands on wearing a hat while surprisingly, Garrett doesn’t break a single rule and restores Glenn’s faith in humanity.

Meanwhile, Mateo is stressed out because he thinks that Jeff told everyone that he’s undocumented. He keeps dancing around the subject to find out with Dina & Glenn know and calls Jeff about 200 times. In the sweetest moment this episode, Mateo is out of ideas so he calls Jeff’s boyfriend to ask about him. As he’s explaining the situation, Jeff walks into the store, all dressed up for Mateo, reveals that he quit his job, and asks him out. They walk out of the store hand in hand and melt my cold dead heart.

Lastly, everyone is annoying Jonah & Amy about their kiss. They walk around the store making suggestive comments at them and annoying the hell out of them when they are just trying to move away from this nonsense. They decide to go along with the hazing and teasing to take the fun out of it for everyone. In the midst of this, they “accidentally” kiss…again. And of course this happens in front of a bunch of people. Now they’re in the cafeteria, trying to explain themselves to everyone, Kelly included, and they just keep digging themselves deeper. Jonah reveals that he had a crush on Amy in the beginning and she reveals that she too had feelings for Jonah. That last admission flusters the hell out of Jonah and he trips over his words like a baby who just started walking.

To make it up to Kelly, he agrees to move in with her and she’s super into it…honestly if my mad had literally admitted to being into his other coworker that he’s super close with, I would not move in with him. But I guess the story needs this so that the “they will” of the “will they won’t they” is more satisfying.
