Big Announcements! Nintendo Direct: 3/8/18!

The latest Nintendo Direct has gotten relatively popular, some even going as far as to say it’s the best Direct Nintendo has ever had. While that might be a stretch, there are definitely reasons as to why so many people may think that.

While I wasn’t intensely engaged in the Direct until the final moments (for a big reason), I still found some announcements pretty exciting.

So let’s stop stalling, here’s almost everything that was announced, shown, or talked about during Nintendo’s latest presentation.

Luigi’s Mansion Remake!… For the 3DS.

Yes, it’s a bummer that this isn’t going to take advantage of Nintendo’s newest hardware, but getting to relive a classic like this anywhere is still pretty cool. Fingers crossed for a Virtual Console version on the Switch. It will come out sometime this year.

WTF Dark Souls Amiibo.

You are paying $12.99 for a figure that lets you perform the popular “praise the sun” gesture in-game… Take my money! Dark Souls Remastered hits shelves on May 25 for the Switch.

South Park Coming to the Switch!

Get a chance to hang out with your favorites from the titular town on the go! South Park: The Fractured But Whole will drop on April 24.

Wow! That’s A lot of Splatoon 2 stuff.

If you’re a big fan of Splatoon 2, get ready for even more crazy stuff to do with this new DLC expansion. The single-player expansion costs $20 and will come out sometime this summer. There will also be an update for the game coming this late April that includes:

  • A bunch of new Inkling outfits
  • Some new stages
  • A new “X” rank

Crash Bandicoot Makes His Way To the Switch!

Part of me wishes I didn’t buy the PS4 version so I could take the trilogy on the go this coming July 10.

Here are some other things I might have missed:

  • WarioWare Gold, featuring 300 microgames, hits 3DS on August 3.
  • Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is being remade for 3DS along with Bowser Jr.’s Story, both for 2019.
  • Okami HD is coming to Switch this summer.
  • The anticipated Switch game Octopath Traveler is out on July 13.
  • Undertale is coming to Switch with a release date of “eventually.”
  • Little Nightmares: Complete Edition will be out on Switch on May 18.

What is it Inkling Girl? Did I forget something important? What could I have forgotten? Oh, wait a minute!

So, Nintendo decided to say “screw it” to E3 this year and announced the newest edition of Super Smash Bros. for the Switch… COMING OUT THIS YEAR! Will it be a port? Or a new game? Watch out for any more info.

While this Direct was chock-full of great announcements I’m a little saddened that there was no word on a possible Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Switch or the newest Pokemon title. Well, more wait for E3 2018!
