Top 5 Love Quotes To Make You Realize There’s Hope For Everyone This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is upon us very soon and what better way to get in the romantic, touchy-feely mood than by counting down the top five most romantic quotes from your favorite nerdy series.

Maybe not the first movie you think of when you think ‘romance’, but since I did my duty as the supportive girlfriend and took my boyfriend on a surprise Deadpool/Valentine’s date way back when I think it’s only right to start off this festive list with a quote from this Marvel hit. This, of course, is a quote from before Wade Wilson becomes Deadpool, but it really reflects the I-want-to-be-your-everything-love that Wade has for Vanessa. They had challenged each other about whose life had been worse, and so it’s their darkness and their ability to thrive that makes them perfect for each other.

I wanted to choose a classic love quote of Hermione and Ron but there is none the wiser than Professor McGonagall speaking on behalf of the late Professor Dumbledore. It’s often argued that love is the ongoing theme of Harry Potter and this quote illustrates that perfectly. Love, be it family love, friendship love or romantic love, has the ability to conquer all. She also reminds us to not forget those we’ve lost and that our love for them can be celebrated through our actions.

I wanted to put Peter and Mary-Jane’s whole conversation in this quote because it’s just so darn cute but it would have taken up too much space. Essentially, this is after Peter tells Mary-Jane that they can’t be together because of the dangers that come with being Spiderman, but Mary-Jane refuses to accept this. She’s insistent that they are meant for each other and that it’s important that Peter isn’t facing the world on his own. Well said, Ms. Watson.

One quote does not do this scene justice, but Amanita’s proposal to her girlfriend Nomi Marks does a wonderful job of capturing the love they have for each other. It was almost a complete shock to watch something as pure and beautiful as their proposal occurs in such a chaotic show, but this scene was executed perfectly. If you haven’t gotten round to watching the Netflix Original: Sense 8, I highly, highly recommend it!

Last but not least, one of my favorites, so much so that I might have a personal rendition of this quote tattooed somewhere on me. Arwenfavorites to her beloved Lord Aragorn in Sindarin, referring to the Evenstar necklace she gives to him as a symbol of her devotion. While he worries of the dangers he faces, she reminds him that this is not the end of their lives together, only the beginning.
