Have any of you nerds had a go at these workouts yet? I’d love to hear from you if you have. Mainly, I’d just love to know that I’m not the only chronically unfit person flailing around in their bedroom trying to pretend they’re Mulan or Buffy the Vampire Slayer in an attempt to get a bit more in shape.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is one of the few things that inspires me to exercise, because she is such a glorious badass, so for my third nerdy workout I picked Wonder Woman. I’m not delusional enough to think that one Wonder Woman workout would have me primed and ready to join the Amazons, but I did kind of hope that I would feel a little bit like an awesome warrior lady while I did it, instead of a wobbly, unfit lady who takes too much pleasure in eating Wotsits and watching TV. This workout also had the advantage of not including any jumping, which I am still trying to avoid out of respect for my floorboards and what little dignity I still possess.

How many sets did I do: Four. It said on the workout to do ten. TEN?! That is laughable and preposterous. Four sets took me about twenty minutes, and that’s quite long enough to be leaping around my bedroom at 6.30am, thank you very much.

Peak heart rate during workout: 135 beats per minute, which is odd because I definitely felt like this one got me more out of breath than the Buffy one.

Easiest exercise: The knee-to-elbow and the squats were the easiest.

Hardest exercise: The elbow plank was the hardest. I was supposed to do a 40 second plank, which I cannot do because there is a lot of me to hold up, so I just held it for as long as I could. I also find press-ups difficult for the same reason, so I did modified ones from the knee. They’re still difficult, because I have the physical dimensions of a woolly mammoth and very little upper body strength.

Next day? I didn’t even have to wait until the next day for my butt to start hurting, I got to enjoy that from the evening onwards. I swear it doesn’t matter what workout I do, the result is always an achey butt. I am a physiological mystery. The achey butt muscles were joined by stiff shoulders the next morning as well.

Playlist highlights: My favourites this time were Chop Suey! by System of a Down, Cannonball by The Breeders and Territory by Wintersleep. I am secretly thanking my iPhone for not selecting all my most embarrassing tunes for these workouts.

Difficulty rating: 7/10. This one is a lot tougher, especially if you’re going to aim to do the ten sets it tells you to do.

Hero rating: 2/10. My hopes of feeling like an Amazon warrior were cruelly dashed, and I can honestly say that this is probably the least heroic I’ve ever felt in my life. In fact, during my final set I actually said, out loud to nobody, “I’m going to die.” So not very heroic at all.
