5 TV/Movie Characters That Would Make Awesome High School Teachers

TV and Movie Characters That Would Make Awesome High School Teachers.

Suspend disbelief for a moment, and imagine what it would be like to have all of your favourite TV and movie characters as high school teachers. What would they be like? What subject would they teach? Would any of them be winning the Teacher of The Year Award? Or would they be walking the fine line between malpractice and a class action lawsuit?

Let’s take a look at how much of a better place the world would be with these five high school teachers in it…

  1. Mathematics, the most logical of school subjects. Logically, taught by the Master of Logic himself, Mr. Spock. It’s only logical.

  2. Have questions about the first witches and wizards that ever walked the face of the earth? Well, before we could even comprehend what magic was, we started out as tiny particles of matter. Doing what exactly no one really knows… Unless, Hermione Granger was our history teacher! She would be able to tell us what the big bang was like, or what sort of things our ancestors did, and how they communicated with each other. With special privileges from the Ministry of Magic, of course, she would be trusted to use a Croaker’s Law-defying time-turner (it exists in a vault somewhere, I know it) that could take you back to the beginning of time without completely changing the course of history. And she would probably be the first person ever to time travel this far. Way to go Ms. Granger.

  3. A multi-talented musician, Lisa Simpson has been playing music for basically all of her life. It’s no surprise then, that in the greatest alternate reality ever to exist (take notes virtual reality builders), Lisa would be that super cool, young and hip music teacher, who’s teachings increasingly make you a better person.

  4. “Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? No. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is […]” our school’s gym teacher Mr. Yoda once said, a long time ago. Underestimate him, you mustn’t, as his curriculum includes the most gruelling obstacle course conceivable, in which you are carrying Mr. Yoda on your back! But once you learn the way of the Jedi, the possibilities become endless. Just imagine how much fun it might be to play basketball with other Jedis.

  5. Don’t ever expect to talk to Mr. Sanchez after Science class (and sometimes even during), unless you’re willing to hop into a mystery portal after him. Guaranteed, though, this class will never be a dull moment. Learning from the smartest human being in the galaxy does have its benefits, just make sure you’re following the original Rick Sanchez.

When I was teaching two classes of first year high school students in Chongqing, I asked them what sort of professions they would like their English teachers to have had before becoming English teachers. The first class gave answers like teacher, lawyer, or businessman. The second class said things like wizard, international spy, or stage magician. That pretty much sums up their personalities.

As for the high school teachers I would have liked to have? Mr. Miyagi for gym class, Walter Bishop for science, Sam Malone for Sex Ed, Lilith Sternin for psychology, and Ramirez from Highlander for history.

Haha, that’s the left brain vs. right brain dichotomy for you. Also, great character choices!
