Will & Grace - Season 1

Chris Haston / NBC

Last night on Will & Grace, both title characters came face to face with their dream jobs, Jack was almost a thousandaire and Karen almost did a nice thing. Also the return of BEVERLY LESLIE!

Karen
After golfing at her favourite country club, Karen finds a morphine drip in her room that isn’t actually a gift for her, but for arch-nemesis Beverly Leslie, who booked the same room to recover from a very serious procedure. While very high, he confesses to Karen that he’s gay, and he needs her to help him break it to his wife Crystal (who was once thought dead but was revived by the first shovel of dirt on her grave.) Karen actually makes a plan to help him but when he’s sober he denies the whole thing and kicks her out of her own room.

Jack
After helping Simon (Alvin’s brother from the Bronx Community Centre) by lending him a dollar to buy a winning lottery ticket, Jack expects to get half the money. Instead, Simon simply gives him his dollar back and thanks him for the loan. Jack wants his money and some revenge, so he hides Simon’s espresso maker and they have a weird standoff about how they can’t hit each other because it would be a hate crime. In the end, they give the money to a little girl whose dad’s car broke down and really needs to make the repairs. So at least a good deed was done.

Grace & Will
Will is up for senior partner at his firm and Grace is pitching to land a huge design account. Guest star Max Greenfield stars as the obnoxious hotel owner who tells Grace to set him up with Will if she wants the design job. She schedules this date after talking it over with Will, who loves this “power gay” as his match – saying the Eli is the perfect partner for a senior partner. The problem is that on the day of the date, Will finds out that he got the job (yay) but realizes that he actually doesn’t want it AT ALL! So on the date, he’s constantly crying and feeling soooooooo many feelings and turning Eli off. In a moment of garbage-human-ness, Grace comes in, has no care for Will’s feelings, yells at him and goes to find Eli.

Will & Grace - Season 1

When she finds him at his helipad and gives him her speech about how good for the job she is, he informs her that she’s the one he chose, he’s glad she loves her job so much, unlike Will. Grace realizes then that she never talked to Will about his job and heads home to fix it. They make up and make a decision that is probably a bad idea, Will is going to quit his job and go into business with Grace, who can’t manage this huge account on her own. These two can barely live together without wanting to kill each other once a day, so it’ll be interesting to see what their work dynamic is.
