CW has finally let slip what we can expect from the third annual Arrowverse crossover coming on November 27th and 28th. Officially titled “Crisis on Earth-X”, the massive multi-show and multi-night event is promising not to disappoint, as the scale of its events seem bigger and crazier than ever.
What can we expect story wise? Well, Barry and Iris are getting married! So all of our Arrowverse heroes come together in the same place to celebrate this momentous occasion. This is when villains from Earth-X decide to crash the ceremonies, as they have a not-so-friendly agenda. Honestly, you just can’t be a superhero, and expect your big gathering during your wedding to go off without a hitch.
Now what is Earth-X? Earth X is a parallel Earth where Germany won World War II, and is home to counter versions of our main characters, including evil versions of Flash, Green Arrow, and Supergirl. Earth X will be touched upon for the first time in continuity during the upcoming animated CW Seed series Freedom Fights: The Ray.
Speaking of The Ray, he will be joining our heroes for the first time in live action during this massive event. Russell Tovey has been cast in the role as Raymond “Ray” Terrill, a reporter who discovers a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. Things go sideways, and he is exposed to a “genetic light bomb”, which gifts him light-based powers.

Executive Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg had this to say about the crossover and their cover recreation in their statement:
“We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids. Phil was the perfect choice to bring the comic book cover iteration of this idea to life. You can count on one hand the number of artists who could compellingly represent so many characters in a single image. Phil is one of them. And his design invokes the cover of Justice League #207, which was the 20th Annual JLA/JSA crossover. Our ten-year-old selves are in heaven.”

The big crossover event begins with Supergirl and Arrow on Monday, Nov. 27th at 8/7c, and concluding with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 8pm.
