Mr. Mercedes made its presence known at San Diego Comic-Con. The room the panel was in was packed out and even more people wanted to get in. Aside from the panel the show took Comic-Con by storm, doing lots of different interviews and brought in several creepy ice cream trucks. The panel consisted of Executive Producer Jack Bender and cast members Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreaful), Kelly Lynch (Road House), Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight), Breeda Wool (Unreal), and Holland Taylor (The Practice).

Before the cast was introduced a clip and trailer played for the fans. The clip showed Brady Hartsfield (Treadaway) stalking someone who has done something to him and displays how crazy Hartsfield is.
Based on the novel by Stephen King, Mr. Mercedes is about a recently retired cop, Bill Hodges (played by Brendan Gleeson), still haunted by the last case he worked and didn’t solve, starts being taunted by the disturbed killer, Hartsfield, with a series of letters and emails which forces Hodges to start a private, possibly felonious, investigation before Hartsfield strikes again.

“[Mr. Mercedes] shows the monster and horror inside of us, instead of the monster outside of us — which is what King normally does,” said Bender. Bender, being no stranger to with the works of King, he worked on the show Under the Dome, had received the manuscript before it was even published.
Later in the panel the audience was shown another clip that further displayed how demented Hartsfield is, also showing a cameo from a popular author.
The show is set to premier August 9th on the Audience network.
