If you were a fan of season 1 of The Exorcist it sounds like season 2 is going to be just as good, if not better. At last nights SDCC panel we were given much more information about what is going to be happening in season 2. The panel consisted of series creator and Executive Producer Jeremy Slater, Executive Producer Sean Crouch and castmembers Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, John Cho, Kurt Egiyiawan, and Brianna Hildebrand.

Season 2 is going to be saying goodbye to the big city and hello to a more rural location. Father’s Tomas (Herrera) and Marcus (Daniels) are on the road and headed to an island off Seattle, WA. The new location offers up chances for a different kind of horror element with a creepy cabin in the woods type of feel to it. I am totally excited for this. As important as the city was for season 1, the creepy woods is going to terrifying.

Tomas and Marcus are eventually led to Andrew Kim (Cho) a former child psychologist who now runs a group home for a group of five at-risk foster kids. Hildebrand will be playing one of the kids. Though she was tight lipped about her character and if she will be possessed, Slater did say “She has a bit of an attitude” and “she’s going to be kicking ass.” Apparently, every character will be kicking a lot of ass this season, which is totally cool.

We also learned that Father Bennett (Egiyawan) will be returning to the Vatican to pick up all the pieces and to weed out those who have turned against God. Adding more into the Vatican story Crouch said “They have an Office of Exorcism which has been around for a thousand years and we’re playing into the reality of that. How does this (the exorcisms) affect the greater Catholic Church?” We will also be meeting Bennett’s mentor in this season.

For fans of season 1, we may also be getting appearances from some members of the Rance family. While they did not give any specifics on who that might be, Slater did say “We want to make sure there’s a story reason behind it, and not a gratuitous one

Aside from details of the upcoming season they talked about having fun on set and that fans played a pivotal role in the show being renewed. As they were leaving the stage Slater thanked the fans and told them because of their strong support they were granted a second season, so lets be sure to do the same exact thing this year so we can get a season 3.

Season 2 of The Exorcist is set to premiere Friday, September 29th, 2017.
