Is everyone ready to go back to Duckburg?

As was announced in February 2015, the Emmy-winning cartoon that ran from 1987-1990 will return this year to re-introduce us to the adventures of Uncle Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie and Donald Duck.

Voice cast announcements were made earlier this month, and the anticipation is now at an all-time high. Uncle Scrooge will be voiced by none other than David Tennant! And Danny Pudi (Community), Ben Schwartz (Parks & Rec) and Bobby Moynahan (SNL) will take the reins as Huey, Dewey and Louie. Other fan favorites include Hamilton superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda as Gizmoduck, and Kate Micucci, Beck Bennett and Toks Olagundoye as Webby, Launchpad and Mrs. Beasley.

The show will premiere with a one-hour TV movie in August. The movie will air for 24 consecutive hours, starting at midnight Saturday, Aug. 12. Then, the series will debut with two new episodes Saturday, Sept 23 (airing at 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.). And if you are afraid one season won’t be enough, have no fear, because the show has ALREADY been renewed for Season 2 before the re-boot has even premiered!

The animated TV show is inspired by the comic book art of Carl Barks, who created Duckburg and many of its inhabitants, including the character of Uncle Scrooge.
