2017 Pokemon Go Overhaul!

Recently, Pokemon Go players new and old got sucked back into the phone app when the developers added the second generation of Pokemon! With the addition of the Johto Region creatures came the promise of MANY a new update. On top of the new Pokemon, Niantic also added in “Legendary Items.” If you hadn’t played any of the original Pokemon games, the Legendary items can come in handy, but they’re hard to find. Essentially what they do is they help to evolve certain Pokemon into something different than their original evolutions, like Slowpoke….OR, it evolves a Pokemon that originally didn’t evolve at all, like Onix. You can retrieve these items through Poke-Stops.

I’ve done quite a bit of research to see what Niantic might have in store for its fans, and here’s what I found, according to multiple websites:

  • One of the earliest updates of this year will focus on revamping the Gyms and making the gameplay surrounding them a little more challenging for players.
  • Rumor has it that Pokemon trading will DEFINITELY become a thing this year, so players will have the chance to exchange Pokemon with each other.
  • Another update includes Person-Versus-Person Pokemon Battles! Players would be able to challenge and fight each other using their Pokemon.
  • They’ve also announced that Legendary Pokemon such as Mewtwo, Mew, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will make appearances within the game!

I know a lot of people don’t really play Pokemon Go anymore, and that’s okay! But if you enjoyed the game and feel like giving it a second chance, then you should definitely keep an eye on the game for these new updates! Thanks for reading!
