Wonder Woman is Coming!

If you look at superheroes, or at any franchise that has someone saving (or destroying the world), it’s most of the time always a man. Therefore I as a woman think it’s great that we get more and more heroines these days. Especially if she is as badass as Wonder Woman is going to be in her own movie.

1. The Story
In the early 20th century, the Amazon princess Diana, who is living on the island of Themyscira, meets American military pilot Steve Trevor when he is washed ashore. After learning from him about the ongoing events of World War I, she leaves her home convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting  in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers and her true destiny.

2. The Villain
It is safe to say that any superhero movies isn’t complete without the main villain. For this role we have two competitors: the general and a masked woman, both can be spotted in the trailer. The general is assumed to be Ares, Diana’s ultimate enemy and the god of War. He thrives in a context of war, making him perfect for the World War I background of the movie.

The woman could be Morgan Le Fey or Diana’s longtime enemy Circe, but there’s another possibility that she is Doctor Poison. The New 52 reinvented Doctor Poison, is an expert in biological weaponry, making her fit perfectly with the wartime setting, where they used chemical weapons for the very first time.

3. Cast
The main cast members are:

Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, The Amazon princess and immortal warrior with Emily Carey  as young Diana.

Chris Pine as Steve Trevor
A fighter pilot in the United States military and love interest of Diana Prince.

Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta
The Amazon queen of Themyscira and Diana’s mother

Robin Wright as General Antiope:
The sister of Hippolyta and Diana’s aunt.

Lucy Davis as Etta Candy:
Steve Trevor’s secretary who becomes friends with Diana.

Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe:
Antiope’s lieutenant.

In case you’ve missed it, here is the latest trailer! Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2, 2017!
