TGON Plays: Farcry 4

Hey Guys! Welcome back to another TGON Plays! As promised, I’m going to review Farcry 4! Surprisingly, this game will be two years old in November, and has already been replaced with Farcry: Primal. Regardless, this game is amazing, so let’s dive right in!

Before we get to the story line, there are things you should definitely know. The game is set in the fictional Himalayan country of Kyrat, a war-torn area in desperate need of help. The story goes like this: Mohan and Ishmani were in love, but after having their son Ajay Gale, they fled to the United States. Ajay grew into a bold young man and, upon his mother’s dying request, returned to Kyrat to spread her ashes. But the Kyrati King, Pagen Min, takes a strong liking to Ajay and claims to have loved his mother. He reveals himself to be a tyrant at war with rebels known as the Golden Path. They rescue Ajay before striking up a deal – Help them fight against Pagen Min and they will help him find the temple where his mother wanted her ashes spread. And so he becomes the hero Kyrat needs, but that comes with it’s own prices.

Much like Farcry 3, if you want to get anywhere in this game, you’ve got to take radio towers and outposts from the Royal Army. Doing this strengthens the Golden Path’s hold on Kyrat and puts Ajay that much closer to making good on his promise. Unlike Farcry 3, you can drive single person helicopters and even ride elephants. How BOMB is that?! I have yet to find a flaw in this enticingly brutal game, and so I’m going to give it a full 5 out of 5 glasses. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think. Thanks for reading!
