Rocksteady has announced last week that a Suicide Squad game in the works! The game has been revealed to be called, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. Rocksteady Studios is also the same developers for the Batman: Arkham video game series. The developer studio is based in London with the parent company being Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The game will be showcased in an upcoming DC FanDome panel on August 22 at 5 pm (PT). Besides the name, Rocksteady has also revealed the poster, which GamesRadar believes that it isn’t Superman on the poster, but that of the villain, Bizarro, due to the purple tint the character is giving off.

Suicide Squad is a series of comics by DC Comics, it is about a team of super-villains that is directed by Amanda Waller. On DC Comic’s website, it describes the squad as follows, “Super heroes aren’t the answer to every problem. Sometimes, extreme situations require extreme measures…or extreme individuals.”

Basically, they are assigned missions that almost always ends in death. They are expendable and expected to not survive the high-risk missions. Each teammate are decorated with explosive devices around their necks in case they disobey or run off. Suicide Squad’s members have consisted of: Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Enchantress, Rick Flag, Bane, and much more.

But don’t get too excited. Eurogamer reported that the game is no where near its launch and is being made for next-gen consoles.

Screenrant has also put out a theory that the Suicide Squad game could be a continuation to the last Batman: Arkham game, Batman: Arkham Knight. Without giving spoilers, Batman: Arkham Knight left off with some sort of an open ending. The ending speculated what is to come and how the Suicide Squad game could fit into the continuation of the Batman: Arkham series. I highly suggest reading the Screenrant article, but beware, it does have spoilers to Batman: Arkham Knight.

The Suicide Squad game would be the first game Rocksteady has made in 5 years.
