TGON Presents: Poison Ivy, the mini series!

Hey everyone! Welcome back to The Game Of Nerds. We recently got word of something INCREDIBLY EXCITING! Poison Ivy, one of the most popular female villains in the Batman world is receiving her own comic book series!

Poison Ivy: Cycle Of Life And Death follows Dr. Pamela Isley’s struggle to maintain her complicated relationship with Harleen “Harley Quinn” Quinzel, while attempting to re-connect with humanity. However, while working in the plant sciences department at the Gotham Botanical Gardens, complications arise when a co-worker is murdered, and police are suspecting the work of Poison Ivy.

Sounds pretty badass right? This prestigious series is only a mini-series however, and will spread through out 6 issues. It was released on sale as of Jan. 20, 2016 and is written by Amy Chu and drawn by Clay Mann.

I’m sure you’re wondering why this was a big enough deal to grab our attentions, well let me tell you! Poison Ivy made her first appearance in Batman issue #181 in June of 1966, and since then has become an icon for empowered and independent women everywhere. However in the near 50 years that she’s been around, Poison Ivy has never had her own comic book series. She’s starred in plenty, but she’s never been the stand-alone main character. With the debut of The New 52 Harley Quinn comics, that changed and Poison Ivy: Cycle Of Life And Death was born!
