At this point, I don’t think it’s possible for Boyle to NOT go “full Boyle” in a relationship, but I suppose that’s the point of him dating a female version of himself. I mean, who else would be so enthused about sharing a scarf? Genevieve and Boyle have only been dating for 3 months and they are already ready to settle down. Boyle’s sick of that wild single life: drunk on sangria, up ‘til 11 (a normal Tuesday for me), nope, he’s ready to be a Papa. The only problem? His crazy ex-wife Eleanor (played by an almost unrecognizable Kathryn Hahn) won’t release his frozen sperm to him. Which leads Jake and Boyle on a mission to save his precious “hostages” before it’s too late. In the end, it wasn’t worth threatening a 90 year old priest over (Eleanor hit him with her car and wanted Boyle to get him to drop the charges), so Boyle decided to call the “rescue” off. Now, he and Genevieve will be using a sperm donor. But honestly, this could be a blessing in disguise; can you imagine a baby that’s part Boyle and part Genevieve? They would be a little overwhelming, to say the least.

Elsewhere in the precinct…

  • Amy wanted a recommendation from Terry for the SAMSAM detective mentor program, but she was overeager and broke his nose in a self-defense demonstration. Like the big man (literally and figuratively) he is, he still wrote her one and made a call to get her in as a mentor, NOT a mentee. Terry is most often the butt of physical humor jokes on this show, has anyone else noticed? I mean, not that I’m complaining…
  • While trying to get a perp to confess, Holt and Rosa let Gina hop in the interrogation room–with disastrous results. Newsflash: confidence is not the only thing you need in the interrogation room. Gina, your day as a detective was short lived, but highly entertaining.

I think we’re all so happy that B99 is back! What are YOU hoping for/ looking forward to for the remainder of the season?
