I usually don’t make New Years resolutions, mainly because they never work out and also because they usually just put pressure on your self for really no good reason, but I figure if I were to make a list of resolutions that were fun and that I actually wanted to carry through on, then I would probably get around to doing them! So here is my list of New Year’s resolutions that just have fun, nerd-themed things that I actually want to do:

1) Go to Walt Disney World!
Despite the fact that Disney is the one true love of my life, I’ve never been to WDW! I live in Nevada so I go to Disneyland a lot and I’ve always really wanted to go, I really want to go to EPCOT and I want to ride Expedition Everest, and I bet now that Coco has come out there’s probably a lot of Coco things now!

  1. Go to Harry Potter World in Orlando
    I went to Universal Studios in LA and loved it! And for some reason everything bigger in Florida (maybe that’s just a theme in the South? Everything’s bigger?) so I want to check it out! Maybe I could get a big group together and we could all go!
  1. Go to Disneyland!
    Yet again, don’t judge me! Disneyland is like my home and I’ve been quite homesick, even though the last time I went was last August, 5 months feels like centuries to me! I plan on taking my two younger cousins who haven’t been yet!
  1. Go to the Midnight Showing of the Incredibles 2
    I’ve never been to a midnight showing and so this year is going to be the first year I’m doing it! The Incredibles is one of my favorite Pixar movies and I’ve been so excited to see the sequel!
  1. Perfect Making a Dole Whip
    Am I the only one on the planet who is always wanting a Dole Whip even if I’m not at the parks? They’re so refreshing and the pineapple juice it just makes me think of sitting on the beach, so I want to find out how to make one at home!   1. Have a Harry Potter Party
    As you may have guessed, I love parties. But usually I don’t have much of an occasion for them, but I’m going to be moving soon and so I’ll have a good reason to invite people over for a party!

  2. Read More
    I guess this is a bit broader than the others, and even though I do read a lot (my room just looks like a library with a bed) I feel like I usually only pick books within genres or from writers I already know I like, and so I think I need to step out of my comfort zone a bit more, because how do I know I like the things I like? I had to try them at some point!

8. Go to more fandom events
There’s always a ton of events centered around fandoms and such, like D23 and Comic-Con and while D23 won’t be back until 2019, there’s got to be other events of the like where I can meet more people who like the same things I like! Maybe just a book club or something?

  1. Learn more
    I want to know more about Disney, even though I already know a lot and all my friends say I know everything, I know that’s far from true, and you’re never done learning so I want to know more about the things I already love!

10. Make friends who also love the fandoms I love
The more the merrier right?! And the more people I can talk to and hang out with who like the same things I like is definitely something to be merry about!
