The Darling Nerd Reviews: BPAL Part 2:  221B Collection

The221B collection.  I only bought the Imp sizes, which I prefer since I
want to smell like all the scents all at once.  It features perfume oils
based on Sherlock and John Watson.

Let’s start with Sherlock.  The company describes Sherlock as…My name is Sherlock Holmes. It is my business to know what other people don’t know.

A fastidiously clean scent, with a
dash of pipe and cigarette tobacco. Faintly beneath, you catch the
fragrance of a smear of greasepaint, a stray horsehair, and a whisper
of Moroccan leather and rosin.

The
art for this collection, created by Julie Dillon and Abigail
Larson, is unfortunately not
Bennedoodle Cumberbooble, as they base it more off the original book
character.  It is definitely very clean, I vaguely smell the leather
and tobacco, it’s a lovely hint of the two.  It’s almost goes a bit
sweet on me, which I don’t mind.  I wonder what it would smell like
on a dude!  I might pick this one up in a full size, just for my love
of series.

The
second in the set is, of course, John Watson.  The company describes
this perfume as…I know, my dear Watson, that you share my
love of all that is bizarre and outside the conventions and humdrum
routine of everyday life.

Tweed and crisp linen, lime-tinged
aftershave, the sleek steel and oil of a well-cared for service
revolver, and the echo of a Jezail bullet shell.

Now this is very
nice.  I can smell the cold steel in it right off.  Letting it dry
down and you get a that crisp linen and just a hint of the lime.
It’s a really interesting fragrance, I definitely suggest grabbing an
Imp of it.  The more I keep wearing this scent, the more i’m falling
in love.
