Quite a few months ago I found an indie skin care brand called Fortune Cookie Soap Company.  I was watching someone on YouTube review a Soap Box, which I will eventually do for you Nerds on their Wonderland Spring box.  One of the things they do, and well, are their mini collections.

For their mid-winter collection they did a Game of Thrones collection called Winter has Come.  Of this collection I bought 5 out of the 19 available items.  I bought the Mother of Dragons whipped cream lotion, The Imp mist me, the Iron Islands OCD hand sanitizer, the Valyrian Steel body wash, and the What Happens Behind the Wall, Stays Behind the Wall solid bubble bath bar.

Mother of Dragons Whipped Cream Lotion:

I will be honest and say that I did sell this lotion to someone on in the FCS Facebook fan group only because I didn’t like the smell for me.  It smelled fine, but I don’t like overly floral fragrances myself.  Here is now they describe the lotion: When I grow up, I wanna be naked, fireproof, and covered in dragons, too! Creamy french vanilla soy milk, sweet florals, and a nutty almond base.

Personally all I could smell was the sweet florals, but each batch of this lotion is hand blended, so if you decide to pick this up, yours could get one that smells like almond and vanilla.  As for the lotion part itself, it’s my absolute favorite product from this company besides their OCD sanitizers.  It’s creamy, doesn’t feel heavy at all and the best part is that it soaks into the skin quickly.

The Imp Mist Me:

Now this perfume comes in a spray bottle and at first I didn’t like it.  Here is the companies description:“I am the god of tits and wine.” Yep… impin’ ain’t easy.

A rich blend of fresh black cherries, white wine, mahogany and teak woods, and a spicy note of freshly grated black pepper.

  • alcohol free
  • paraben free
  • formulated to leave a silky, smooth feel on skin or hair.

It smelled too much like a cherry medicine we all were forced to take as a kid.  BUT, after talking with other fans of the scent they encouraged me to try it out.  And guess what, I do like it!  You get a hint of berry at first, but as it dries down you get this cool peppery note to it.  A lot of reviews i’ve seen on it say it reminds them sweetened red berry wine.  I don’t know about that for me, but I like that it has a bit of spice mixed with the berry.  My only tiny small issue is with the packaging.  The spray nozzle does not spray a fine mist at all, so you can come off a little wet after a couple sprays.  I did notice that the online description says you can spray it in your hair, so maybe i’ll give that a shot.

Iron Islands OCD Hand Sanitizer:

I love FCS sanitizers.  I like how the fragrance stays after use it and that my hands don’t feel dry afterwards.  Here is the company description of this product:  It’s a nice place to visit (we guess)… but we sure wouldn’t want to live there!

Have you tried any part of Fortune Cookie Soap Company or Winter has Come? What did you think?
Stay tuned for part two next week.
