The third episode of season eight of Doctor Who opens with a familiar question asking when and where shall he travel next. The Doctor and Clara find themselves in a fairytale setting with the meeting of Robin Hood. I thought this was a great idea to have The Doctor meet another legend in history. I always thought that Doctor Who was a fairy tale like adventure set in a sci-fi world. It was quite funny how the Doctor couldn’t believe that Robin Hood was real and tries everything to debunk him as a man in history. This made for some great dialogue and funny moments between the two.  Also, I thought that Robin Hood had some great chemistry with Clara and honesty could see an episode of just them two.

I really enjoy on how this episode respects the Robin Hood mytho by having his Merry men at his side as well as showing his skills as an archer. We see his skills along with the Doctor’s, during a achor competition in which we first see the Robots of Sherwood. I thoughts of designs of these robots were pretty kickass. They reminded me of the sentinels from X-mens. They also showed that they were quite powerful and cold like the Cybermen. However I thought their master plan was a bit lackluster. I enjoy how the castle itself was a ship and they were using the towns people to help them leave but beside that there wasn’t much to it.  I overall enjoyed Ben Miller as the Sheriff. He held his own along with Capaldi.

I just felt that he could have gone a bit dark and deep with his role as The Sheriff. Tom Riley’s performance of Robin Hood was a nice throwback to the classic story and films such as Men in Tight. He was dashing, brave and fought to prove that he was real as the Doctor.

I also really thought it was real speical seeing The Doctor and Robin Hood working together to stop the robots. Seeing them bounce off each was really nice and made for some witty moments. I felt that the ending was the high point for the episode. I felt that it was about the Doctor more than Robin Hood. The fact that all it takes are amazing stories to give some of us a push to do great things. Doctor Who has been inspiring to others to write, film and produce great pieces of work over the years. Even me.

Overall this was great episode to move along the season. It may not have been as good as the last two episode but till a solid one.
